Resolving Employees’ Issues Is Our Government’s Responsibility: Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka

Hyderabad: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu has reiterated the Congress-led government’s commitment to addressing the concerns of government employees, calling it a fundamental responsibility of the administration.

Speaking at a crucial meeting with the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of employee unions at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Secretariat on Wednesday, Bhatti Vikramarka assured that the government is actively working to resolve long-pending employee grievances. He was joined by Ministers D. Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar, and Government Advisor K. Keshava Rao.

No further delay:

To this end, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had constituted both a ministers’ sub-committee and an officials’ committee, with the specific intent to engage constructively with employee unions. The three-member ministers’ sub-committee has already held multiple rounds of discussions with the JAC and collected representations on various issues.

The Deputy CM acknowledged that due to financial backlogs accumulated over several years, it was not feasible to address all concerns immediately. However, he emphasized that the current government is determined to resolve them without further delay.

Committed to resolve:

“In view of the Cabinet meeting scheduled for Thursday, we are holding direct consultations with employee unions and reviewing the report prepared by officials,” he said. “Our government sees employees not just as workers, but as equal partners in governance.”

Bhatti added that the government is conducting a financial exercise to ensure that employee welfare measures are implemented without imposing any additional burden on the public. “We are mobilizing resources and exploring all avenues to move forward responsibly. The government genuinely wants this exercise to succeed,” he said.

He assured the JAC leaders that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is deeply committed to resolving employee issues despite fiscal constraints. “The Chief Minister believes that even amidst financial pressures, there should be no compromise when it comes to employee welfare,” he said.

Cabinet Meeting:

The Deputy CM also noted that there had been multiple internal discussions within the Cabinet about employees’ financial difficulties, including expenses related to family weddings and medical needs. “There is no difference of opinion within the government on the need to resolve employee issues,” he stressed.

A final report is being prepared after consultations with the Three-Member Officials’ Committee, the Finance Department, and other relevant officials. This report will be presented at the Cabinet meeting for final decisions.

Senior officials including Naveen Mittal, Lokesh Kumar, Krishna Bhaskar, Sandeep Kumar Sultania, and Mahesh Datt Ekka also attended the meeting.
