Despite achieving statehood for Telangana with the promise of employment opportunities, Telangana society is now expressing concerns over conspiracies to hinder job creation.
Allegations are being made that the BRS and BJP, under a covert alliance, are systematically obstructing every developmental initiative undertaken by the Congress government. Congress leaders are accusing these parties of directly and indirectly blocking progress, citing the handling of the Kancha Gachibowli land issue as an example.
In 2003, about 400 acres of land in Survey No. 25 of Kancha Gachibowli were misused. The Congress government fought legal battles and successfully reclaimed ownership of these lands.
Now, as the government is initiating development projects in the area, the BRS and BJP are attempting to incite students in the name of environmental protection and politicize the issue. Congress leaders argue that these parties are deliberately trying to prevent investments and employment opportunities.
Following a court verdict, the state government obtained ownership rights over the land and began development under the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation. The government aims to attract investments worth ₹50,000 crore by allocating land to IT industries through an open auction.
These projects are expected to generate around 5 lakh jobs. Given the presence of major companies like American Consulate, Wipro, and Infosys in the vicinity, the government believes that the area can be further developed into a major commercial and employment hub.
BRS and BJP Accused of Spreading Fake Environmental Concerns
However, BRS and BJP are allegedly attempting to block this project by falsely portraying it as an environmental threat. It is being claimed that these parties have been spreading fake audio and video clips, showing peacocks and other wildlife in distress due to land leveling works. Congress leaders insist that this is an attempt to mislead the nation and stall development.
Congress’ Commitment to Environmental Protection
After coming to power, the Congress government has prioritized environmental conservation, particularly by revitalizing lakes and water bodies in Hyderabad by HYDRA. The restoration of Batukamma Kunta is one such example.
Congress leaders question why their party, which has always supported environmental preservation, would now engage in harmful activities in Kancha Gachibowli. State ministers Bhatti Vikramarka and Sridhar Babu, both alumni of Hyderabad Central University (HCU), have assured that the development will not harm water resources, green cover, or natural rock formations in the area.
Congress’ Contribution to Hyderabad’s Green Spaces
Congress leaders criticize BRS and BJP for accusing them of environmental destruction while conveniently ignoring the green initiatives undertaken during Congress rule. They remind the opposition that several eco-parks and conservation areas in Hyderabad, including KBR National Park, Kotla Vijayabhaskara Reddy Botanical Garden, Nehru Zoological Park, Shamirpet Deer Park, Bio-Diversity Park were all developed under Congress governments.
*BRS’ Record of Environmental Destruction*
Congress leaders point out that BRS has been responsible for large-scale environmental damage, citing the destruction of Biodiversity Park lands and hills in Khajaguda during its rule. They argue that BRS and BJP lack a consistent environmental policy on one hand, they criticize Congress’ HYDRA project for restoring water bodies, while on the other, they falsely accuse the Congress government of harming the environment.
Congress leaders highlight previous instances of land misuse under BRS, such as destruction of hills in NEO Police lands, Selling Kokapet lands at ₹100 crore per acre, Auctioning government lands in Budvel
They argue that the opposition parties are deliberately obstructing the Kancha Gachibowli project, which is aimed at attracting international companies and creating employment for 5 lakh people. Comparing past developments in HITEC City, Gachibowli, and Financial District, they assert that Telangana’s progress and youth employment are top priorities for the Congress government.
Congress leaders affirm that no matter how many hurdles the opposition places, the Congress government’s commitment to Telangana’s development remains steadfast.
