Hyderabad: The Telangana government’s ambitious project, Bharat Future City, has now gained rare national prominence that no other upcoming city project in the country has received.
Spread across 13,500 acres, this futuristic city has emerged as a major destination on the global industrial map – largely due to the success of the two-day Telangana Rising Global Summit–2025. With representatives from 44 countries attending and investment agreements worth ₹5.7 lakh crore, investor confidence in the Future City project has significantly strengthened.
Global Recognition Through the Summit
While many smart city and new city proposals across India have remained on paper for decades, the Telangana government, under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, showcased Bharat Future City as the summit venue – reflecting its vision and execution speed. With the summit’s success, the path has now cleared for the actual development of Future City. Massive investments are flowing into sectors such as deep tech, green energy, aerospace, infrastructure, entertainment, defence, and AI. The government plans to develop this region as a residential hub, business centre, and research ecosystem.
Future City Divided into Six Zones
Bharat Future City will be developed across six major specialised districts, designed to drive global innovation and urban excellence. These include a dedicated Artificial Intelligence district, a world-class Health City, a vibrant Entertainment district, and a Sports district featuring high-end facilities.
Additionally, a large Data Centers district is being created to cater to the rapidly growing digital infrastructure needs, while an International Higher Education district will house globally reputed universities and research institutions.
As part of the initial development, 400 acres have already been earmarked for data centers, with construction expected to begin by the end of February. The Young India Skills University is also set to commence operations within the next month, marking another milestone in the city’s phased development.
A Zero-Carbon City
Aligned with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s vision, the entire 13,500-acre Bharat Future City is being planned as a Zero-Carbon City, integrating sustainability into every layer of its design. The project will feature expansive urban forests, advanced rainwater harvesting systems, and eco-friendly infrastructure to ensure minimal environmental impact. Alongside these green initiatives, the city will also emerge as a major hub for research and manufacturing in life sciences, green pharma, and electric vehicle technologies.
A Comprehensive Urban Ecosystem Promising 13 Lakh Jobs
Designed as a comprehensive living ecosystem, the city is expected to generate nearly 13 lakh jobs and provide modern residential communities for around 9 lakh people. In partnership with Reliance Foundation’s Vantara, a dedicated wildlife conservation centre will also be established within the city.
Additionally, the Entertainment District will offer international convention centres, star-category hotels, racing tracks, and a range of world-class sports and leisure facilities, making Bharat Future City not just a business destination but a vibrant urban centre for work, living, and recreation.
A New Architectural Marvel
Bharat Future City is set to become an architectural landmark with world-class infrastructure and next-generation mobility systems. Following the summit’s success, the project has achieved unmatched national recognition compared to any other new city initiative in India.
Government officials state that Bharat Future City will play a crucial role in achieving Telangana’s Vision 2047 goals, especially the mission to transform Telangana into a $3 trillion economy.
